NILE CANOPUS
SETTING SAIL
NOVEMBER 2025
A TIMELESS JOURNEY ALONG THE NILE
This 55-meter dahabeya (double-masted Nile cruiser) Nile Canopus, reflects a contemporary take on Egypt’s Golden Era of travel in the late 1800s, when writer Amelia Edwards – one of the first female Egyptologists – spent weeks sailing up the Nile taking notes and making illustrations for her celebrated travelogue A Thousand Miles up the Nile.
Offering unusually spacious accommodation to discover the iconic sites between Luxor and Aswan, the eight cabins and four suites with private balcony are appointed with bespoke teak and rattan furniture, brass beds draped in vintage Suzani’s and Egyptian Cotton sheets, which are best enjoyed when the golden morning light streams through the many cabin windows. Everything on the boat, other than a selection of carefully selected antiques, has been custom-made in Egypt, from the crockery and cutlery to the handmade ceramic tiles and the marble shower trays. In addition, Nile Canopus offers multiple indoor and outdoor areas to relax and dine. A safari-style tent – a wink to famed archaeologist Howard Carter’s abode during his time discovering Tutankhamun’s tomb – shades part of the upper deck, providing a unique spot to sit and watch the timeless scenes along the River Nile pass by.
